...and they're off!

Background info. Nothing much to know besides what I put in my profile. So, this will just contain ramblings of my opinions and what the heck is going on in the world!

First off! Anyone else find it incredible that we spend more time supporting the people we care for then actually spending time with them? How bassackwards is that? I work a full-time job at Hollister, which is a rant of its own, as well as doing freelance website work on the side. On a usual weekday I get to spend about 30 minutes to an hour with my fiance, soon to be wife. I live for the weekend. And even half of Saturday she's taken by work. All in order to get our lives started.

I've found so far in the world, that there are cycles that are hard to break! Let me name a few.
1. No car --> Hard to get work --> No work = no loan --> No loan = no car (and it starts over!)
2. Struggling to get by --> Start doing okay --> Something goes amiss --> Fix it with saved money --> Struggling (grrrrr.)
3. Eat food --> Stomach processes good stuff --> Gets rid of bad stuff --> Hunger --> Eat food!

Alright, so I actually enjoy #3...at least the eating part of it. But really. I'm just getting started in the world and so far from what I've seen is we've created a world where it takes more time to get by then we get to sit back and enjoy things. We spend more time at work then at home. And when we are home, we have bills to pay and other things to keep in check before we get to relax.

Hollister. Ohhhh boy. Anywho. I recently was hired on as full-time lead stock at Hollister. I've only been working a couple weeks, but it seems to me, for the amount of time and stress and frustration I spend working on getting tasks done, I should get paid more. They send me 10 hours of shipment in 1 day, and I'm supposed to get it done. This is just 1 aspect of the job, I also:

1. Pull USRs (30min - 1hr)
2. Pull SPRs (1hr - 2hr)
3. Manage and train any part timers in the back.

They say it's possible. And I'm sure it is. People do it in other stores. But it sure doesn't feel possible when you're looking at everything there is to do. I was also informed that the girl working in the position before me didn't take lunches. She would just scarf down something really quick. I think if I have to be a demi-god in order to finish everything my job requires, they should pay more.

I'll stop complaining now. I'm getting married in less then a month! Gasp! Me? Yes! I totally thought I'd make it to 25 or older without getting married. But for some reason Jillian sticks around. I'm not sure why. I think it's either because I'm incredibly good looking, or because I have a flawless personality. *thoughtful pause* Maybe both. It's good though, she's absolutely gorgeous, smart, funny, witty, outspoken, and all in all, more amazing then me...which is hard to beat. Ask around, it's true.

Anywho. The date is set for April 11th. I've been busy, and have failed to mail out a few invitations. I apologize. I will try my best to get those out ASAP.
